Highly acclaimed private chef Campbell Mickel has opened his first restaurant in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh. Merienda (the Spanish word for snack), brings together a Mediterranean flavour with the best of Scottish produce.
Merienda offers 23 different dishes on its small plate dining menu. The menu is changed every 4 weeks to allow the restaurant to keep things fresh and exciting for their diners. The concept allows the diner to mix, choose and create their own tasting menu and allows them to experience a wonderful variety of flavours, colours and textures in every plate.
Campbell said: “I call every plate that comes out of the kitchen “works of art.” The colours and textures of each dish are rich and vibrant and encourages everyone to taste with their eyes first before proceeding to experience the complex, delicious combination of flavours. Our chefs are not just cooks, but artists too. “
With only 20 covers, the intimate dining space provides an ambient interior where you can relax, take your time and enjoy your gastronomic journey. The wine list supplied by L’Art du Vin, has been carefully chosen to compliment every dish on the menu. Merienda is a high end, casual dining experience with a difference!
